At MedStar Family Choice District of Columbia, we care about our expectant and postpartum mothers. To help keep mothers and babies healthy, we offer programs, information, and incentives.

Momma & Me Program

If you are less than 28 weeks pregnant, you may be eligible to join the Momma & Me program. This program offers incentives for taking care of yourself and your baby before and after your delivery.

Program benefits include:

  • The opportunity to earn up to three prepaid $25 Visa gift cards for attending an appointment or participating as follows (with maximum of $75 per Enrollee, per year):
    • $25 for attending pre-natal doctor visit within the first trimester (12 weeks gestation)
    • $25 for attending a dental cleaning/exam OR attend a MedStar Family Choice DC Maternal Health education class while pregnant
    • $25 for completing a postpartum doctor visit within 7-84 days after delivery
  • Educational classes (Safe sleep training—including free cribette)
  • Assistance with community resources
  • Care manager nurse assist for Enrollees experiencing a high-risk pregnancy (behavioral health, advanced maternal age, chronic conditions).
  • Assistance with doula service

We Care Postpartum Program

For moms who did not enroll in the MedStar Family Choice DC Momma & Me program, we have a postpartum program called We Care. For participating in this program, you may be eligible for an incentive for receiving your postpartum exam and for taking your newborn to his or her first two-week, well-child visit.

Program benefits include:

  • The opportunity to earn a prepaid $25 Visa gift cards for completing a postpartum doctor visit within 21-56 days after delivery (with maximum of $75 per Enrollee, per year):
  • Educational classes (Safe sleep training—including free cribette) 
  • Assistance with Community resources
  • Care manager nurse assist for Enrollees experiencing a high-risk chronic conditions, depression and/or social determinates of health.
